BidSauce Review – Penny Auction Site

It’s the newest rage in Internet shopping; penny auctions, where players have a chance to win brand new name-brand merchandise in an exciting live auction environment for just pennies on the dollar

If you’re new to penny auction sites, the concept is that people are placing bids to buy an item as a timer counts down to zero.  First, users are encouraged to browse the site in question and select the item they want to try to win. Then you purchase a pack of bids that you’ll use during the auction. This is part of what sets penny auctions apart: since you purchase your bids before starting the penny auction you run less risk of going ‘bid crazy’ during all the excitement.

Every BidSauce penny auction begins with a price of fifty cents. Each time someone places a bid the clock gets set back just a few seconds while the price of the item is raised by one cent.  That’s why it’s called a penny auction.  If you’ve placed the highest bid so far your user name will appear on the list as the Top Sauce.   Keep an eye on that timer –  The best way to win is to keep placing bids – FAST- the closer the clock is to ‘zero’ (or in this case, ‘Sold’) . You have to be ‘Top Sauce’ (last bidder) at the moment the clock runs out to win a penny auction at BidSauce.

Whoever places the last bid as the clock strikes 0/SOLD wins.

There can be a real art to this, because of the number of incoming bids that keeps setting the timer back a few seconds, but seasoned penny auction bidders have a very good chance of winning – so good in fact that BidSauce sets a limit on how many times one customer can win in every 24 hour period.

There are a slew of penny auction sites showing up now, such as BidSauce, and for the most part they’re all pretty similar.  For the savvy user though there are significant differences. One difference would be the selection, the other the overall quality of merchandise.  Another would be the honesty and customer care. Top penny auction sites have ‘fair play’ guarantees to protect the members and assure each one a fair chance to win.

BidSauce is a very decent site for playing the penny auctions. While there are a few other penny auctions that I can recommend too, for my absolute favorite recommendation click here.

One thing I like about the best of these sites is you have the option of still getting your item for the regular price just in case you don’t manage to win (in other words, still getting the value for the bids you placed). There are really great penny auctions like my personal favorite which have it set up so no one ever has to walk away without being a winner. This is usually called a ‘buy now’ option, and it’s the best way of being able to have great fun bidding in a penny auction for items you were about to go out and buy anyway.  This way if you don’t win the penny auction you’re still able to get the item anyway, and apply the value of your spent bids towards its purchase.  Win-win!

Some of the penny auction sites aren’t as great as others and a couple I’m just not sure about, but if you review them all carefully you’ll see that BidSauce is very good (although I like my personal favorite even better), and any site that has really great customer service, a wide selection of brand-new in the box brand name merchandise, gift certificates or other high quality prizes to win, is worth a try.

So there you have it. Penny actions are not all created equal, and even among the good ones there are some clear stand outs (and some that aren’t quite as great). The best part is that there really are some great ones, and if you go to them you really can walk away with something like a brand new plasma TV for about 98% of the retail price!  Plus it’s fun and thrilling to get caught up in the auctions (and especially the turbo auctions which will take your breath away).
